China Day Celebration and Parade
CMAAC organized a float for the China Day parade held in Torontoon Sunday, September 27, 2009 at from 10a-12p at the LegislativeAssembly of Ontario. The parade began at 12pm and there was agreat turnout.

The parade began at noon at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. The weather was wonderful and the turnout was excellent! There were lots of laughs and fun had by all in attendance! The 2 hour parade was followed by dinner at the Ruby Chinese Restaurant, which sold-out! (93 tables - we should aim for that amount for our next CMAAC celebration! LOL) Thank you to everyone who made it out and helped to decorate the float for CMAAC!
CONTINUING EDUCATION SEMINAR 再教育學術講座
CMAAC held a continuing education seminar on October 5, 2009 from 10a-12p. There was an excellent turnout for the seminar and a lot of very important information was presented. Ms. Manuela DiRe, Health Law Legal Counsel of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, was the speaker and held a presentation on the Personal Health Information Protection Act. Ms. DiRe has allowed CMAAC to put the power point presentation she gave at the seminar on the CMAAC website for 30 days. To view the power point presentation, go to the following link:
The presentation will be available until November 19, 2009. Please review the presentation as it has a lot of very valuable information contained in it about the Personal Health Information Protection Act, which is an Act that practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture must adhere to. CMAAC would like to thank Ms. DiRe for taking time out of her busy schedule to speak with CMAAC members about this important Act. 加拿大中醫藥針灸學會的十月五號再教育學術講座非常成功地完成舉行，謝謝大家的支持。本會得到安省信息和隱私委員會，衛生法法律顧問Manuela DiRe 的允許，將在學會網頁放講課資料 ( October 19 to November 19 )，請會員閱讀。了解熟悉安省有關衛生健康信息和隱私保密法規是非常重要的；特別是如果想要成為安省中醫師及針灸師管理局注冊登記為會員。 作為衛生健康服務人員，針灸師和中醫醫師必須遵守個人健康信息保护行動法， 和需要十分熟悉這一法規。
深切哀悼Dr. LeslieMakray Obituary
Dr. Leslie Makray不幸於10月8日逝世，加拿大中醫藥針灸學會全體會員深感悲哀萬分。Dr. Leslie Makray是我會元老，及名譽顧問，他對我會立法奮鬥貢獻良多，功不可沒，我們會永遠懷念他。The Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC) is deeply saddened to learn that Dr. Leslie Makray passed away on October 8, 2009. Dr. Makray was a founding member of CMAAC and an honorary advisor. He was an advocate for the regulation of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture and supported a lot of CMAAC initiatives over the years. On behalf of CMAAC, we wish to express our deepest condolences to Dr. Makray’s family and friends. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Dr. Makray will be missed greatly.
